Dolphins fall to Colts in Overtime playtoff loss

Team News Wire I usually don't do write ups but this game was pretty much the most exciting game that you could ask for and anyone at the game got their moneys worth. The game started out with both teams going back and forth and having trouble moving the ball throughout the first quarter. As was normal with Buck he was blitzing just about every down and Ryan would either get sacked or rush the throw and overthrow the receiver most downs. Buck came out on offense attempting to establish the run but that wasn't working. So in essence both of us were playing great defense. Finally towards the end of the quarter the Dolphins were able to put a touchdown on the board and go up 7-0. That lead wouldn't last long as the Colts hit Anthony Gonzalez on a play action streak to tie up the game. I apologize but I am not the best at remembering exactly when things happen but I know it stayed 7-7 for a good while.
In the second quarter the Colts began to pass more and were able to move the ball successfully and go up 14-7. I recall the Dolphins were trying everything to get the pass going but it would always come up short. The Colts blitz was never ending and forcing Ryan to make bad decisions and either be off the mark or hurry the pass. The half ended with the Colts up 14-7 and Buck seemed very excited as I would have been myself had I been leading. The third quarter was much of the same with it being difficult to move the ball against the blitz but at least the Dolphins defense stepped up and began stopping the Colts again. The Dolphins then muster up another 7 points and we are tied at 14-14 and I am starting to feel confident again.
Throughout the game as I was saying I have trouble remembering the spots but the Dolphins had a lot of mishaps. Ted Ginn Jr got behind the defense on one down and was about 10 steps behind his defender inside the ten yard line and for unknown reasons attempted to one hand catch the ball and dropped it. Ronnie Brown fumbled but thank goodness on the challenge it was overturned. Ginn also got behind the coverage on another down later in the game that would have put me inside the 20 yard line and Buck threw the challenge flag and Ginn had stepped out of bounds.
Then at some point something happened which has never happened to me before. I threw a pass which came up just short of a fourth down leaving me pretty much exactly at the 50 yard line with a 4th and inches. I remember thinking to myself, Buck hasn't stopped my run for a loss yet, I am going to go for the gusto and try to win the game by converting this fourth down. Here comes the part I was telling you about that has never happened to me before.............Buck stops the game......You can't go for it here he says. I was ready to cry. I can't go for a fourth and inches at the 50??? I went ahead and punted the ball as requested and low and behold Buck was right.....The rule reads you have to be "PAST" the 50 yard line or down by 14 or more points. Can you believe my luck I thought....lmao. Had I been one yard further no problem, go for it, but AT the 50 yard line.....No can do! Anyway back to the game.
Finally the fourth quarter came and it seemed the defenses were getting tired and both teams started to show some offensive life again. Buck scored a field goal and went up 17-14. The Dolphins somehow scratched and clawed and were able to score again and next thing you know it was 21-17. This was the first time since the first quarter the Dolphins had taken the lead.
So anyway the Colts get the ball and score a touchdown to go up by 3 points deep into the 4th quarter and I am pretty much needing a miracle at this point. Well, somehow I start moving the ball and because I had used a time out earlier I think because one of my players got hurt I only had 2 to use. Oh and I almost forgot when the Colts scored just to make Ginn look bad Dallas Clark caught a ball one handed inside my 20 when he didn't need to to rub salt in Ginn's wounds....lmao! Now the Dolphins are charging down the field with under a minute to go. We get to the Colts 37 and we are out of time outs.....Oh crap!!! I know I can run for a more certain FG but I will never get up to the line in time. So the Dolphins hope for the best and low and behold Feely nails it!
Time for Overtime boys! The Colts get the ball and can't do a damn thing, the Dolphins get the ball and the same thing. We go back and forth and no one can get in field goal range. Finally I get to about his 45 and there is just over a minute left in the first overtime and I just cannot get close enough. Buck gets the ball and then starts trucking it down the field in hurry up mode and the Dolphins defense is always an arms length out of reach of the ball. He gets down to my 35 with 4 seconds left in overtime. Time for another long field goal........IT's GOOD!!! The Colts win.....The COLTS win!!! I told Buck congratulations after the game but I said I would have to check on that 4th down rule....lol. He was right all along....can't do it!
Anyway, Buck and I always have some great battles and this was just another one of those and a great game played by Buck, my hat goes off to him. Seems anytime we play a big game he has that blitz humming and today was no different.
Congratulations to the Colts and Bucky!!!
