Dallas pleased with rookies first game

The Dallas cowboys coach took a chance and decided to start all his rookies and most of his backups against the strong Colts team. I was very please to be able to hold the Colts to only 14 points the first half with Manning firing off on every play. I think there was two running plays the whole first half. New Dallas Rookie QB Paul Smith did a decent job on his first time out playing as a pro. He had 9 of 17 with one TD and one interseption. The offensive line did a reasonal job as all but one linemen were rookies and backups getting in some playing time. (48 pancakes and 2 sacks) 2nd TE Fred Davis playing 1st positon tonight got 8 pancakes and no sacks. The Receving team was a little lax, however it was total backups with Glenn and Owens on the bench for the whole game. All in all the Cowboys second string stayed with the Colts until late in the 4th qt the score tied at 21 when a tiped ball bounced over a couple of players into the hands of Reggie Wayne and he took it in for the winning score.
Same thing on Defense with about half or more of the defense being rookies and backups. ROLB Angelo Craig, picked up out of FA was the leading defensive players with 7 tackles 1 for a loss and 2 sacks. Backup LOLB Spencer had 5 tackles with one sack. Rookie DT Marks only had 2 but without a running game from the Colts he could only try and get pressure on the QB and he did that several time chasing him out of the pocket several times. The Entire Defensive Backfield was all either rookies or backups getting in some free playing time. To hold Manning the way they did I can see the future is bright for them the next few seasons.
Dallas QB one year man Josh Johnson did not look good in this game. completing only 4 of 14 with one interseption that set up the winning score from the Colts. The Dallas Coach believes the team can have a winning season this year and if they improve could just go to the dance at the end of season.
Of course the NFC East will be the toughest Division to get a win in so who ever wins it will be very strong contenders in there playoff bid.
